We really are very proud of our team at The Smile Centre, LIskeard. We are a genuinely friendly bunch who gets to know our patients and their families by name.
Dental wellbeing is fundamental to our self-confidence and our quality of life, and our team has been contributing to the welfare of the local community for over twenty years through the provision of exceptional oral healthcare and a superior customer care experience.
We adhere to the strict guidelines set by the General Dental Council.
Dentist & Business Owner

Special Interest in: Implantology & Sedation
Loves his job because: “I work with a team of motivated professionals who solve problems for patients. It’s very rewarding to create something beautiful and functional”
Something interesting: Chris played water polo for the West of England, was in the National Swimming Squad (Olympic selection 1965 & 1968) and is also a fully qualified scuba diver which includes wreck and cave diving.

Loves his job because: “I love people and gadgets & dentistry is rich in both. I get to work with and provide a service for thousands of different people from all walks of life and I get to work with cutting edge technology as well!”
Something interesting: Dan wants to base jump off a mountain in a wing suit – maybe when the kids have grown up!

Special interest in: Minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry – creating smiles which patients will love through both treatments and cosmetic fillings
Loves her job because: Helping people achieve dental health, educating & empowering patients, helping to change the perception of dentistry though holistic care and creating the confidence in patients to smile
Something interesting: Vicky loves photography – taking photos, looking at photos, buying photos … especially where Morocco is concerned through her work with the charity Dental Mavericks

Loves her job because: It is rewarding when patients return and their oral health has been transformed
Something interesting: Maxine enjoys ballet, swimming and history. She has been known to pirouette around the surgery as her feet don’t touch the ground!

Special interest in: Claire loves numbers and holds her Diploma in Business Studies
Loves her job because: The Smile Centre is a “family” … since working here Claire has learned a lot about herself and the impact on relationships
Something interesting: Claire is very proud to have been the National President of Ladies Circle which enabled her to meet lots of people all over the world
Practice Manager (Job Share)
Special interest in: Dental compliance – ensuring the practice is compliant and safe
Loves her job because: Kerry loves working with such a great team of people and enjoys the variety of tasks which might come her way. She has a love of people in general and so the challenge of steering a happy ship is the perfect job for her.
Something interesting: Family is key to Kerry who is a very proud mum to her brood and also wife to a nutty engineer. She firmly believes that we all need to smile more!

Special interest in: Conscious sedation (qualified in 2017), special care dentistry and worked for 3 years in primary care
Loves her job because: Bec grasped the challenge of the Lead Nurse role to further her career. It’s a busy role with lots of nursing opportunities alongside her new found responsibility
Something interesting: Bec is a keen cyclist and cycles to work most days!

Special interest in: Lou enjoys all aspects of dental nursing and particularly enjoys implant nursing
Loves her job because: Lou loves being around people and being able to help them. Nursing is varied and interesting – no one day is ever the same
Something interesting: Has a passion for baking … and has her own bakery, selling her artisan bread locally at markets and fayres
Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing – 2016
Special interest in: Implant nursing, Invisalign invisible braces system and sedation
Loves her job because: Loves being able to care for people & help calm nervous patients. Being a team member at The Smile Centre is fantastic – everyone is friendly & caring
Something interesting: Micki enjoys walking her Jack Russell with her partner. She is also a qualified beauty therapist and was 3rd in the UK for her achievements with electrolysis. Micki’s big dream is to run the London Marathon.
City & Guilds Level 3 in Dental Nursing – 2019
Special interest in: Surgical procedures, orthodontics and implants
Loves her job because: No two days are ever the same at the practice – it’s a very hands-on job and I get to meet some interesting people … I feel I am always learning
Something interesting: Nikita has a great love of the gym … and is a real foodie! She worked in Morocco with the charity Dental Mavericks which has encouraged her to do more of this type of work

Special interest in: Attention to detail – enjoys a busy decontamination environment and ensuring everything runs smoothly
Loves her job because: Sam enjoys working within in a strong dental team and enjoys the challenge of keeping surgeries tip top with cleanliness
Something interesting: Sam loves her rock music and rollercoasters!
Special interest in: Keeping reception area ship shape and ensure the front desk is the perfect welcome for patients.
Loves her job because: Amy is very much a “people person” and loves to meet new people. Her role is perfectly suited to her as it involves organising and chatting – her 2 favourite things.
Something interesting: With 2 daughters, a cycling husband & a Sprocker, Amy is kept on her toes. Family time away in the caravan with a coastal walk is her perfect weekend.
Special interest in: Safeguarding patients
Loves her job because: Likes meeting different patients, listening to their interests. Jo is the happiest she has ever been coming to work and loves the building which was formerly a rectory
Something interesting: Alongside kayaking and paddle boarding, Jo has 2 rescue donkeys and she can play the trumpet!

Special interest in: Helping businesses run in a sustainable way; being mindful of the environment and local community.
Loves her job because: I love making the positive difference in the work that i do.
Something interesting: Running, sea dips, baking, gardening, writing and being a mum. Life time ambition is to write a book
Special interest in: Creative and innovative baking for birthdays and menus for bigger catering events
Loves her job because: It is always fun delivering the latest celebration bake, whether traditional or a special savoury. I particularly enjoy researching cake designs which match the person.
Something interesting: I love my microscope and checking out exactly what does live in pond water or that lump of earth .. have you ever seen a butterfly under magnification??
