Keeping your smile happy and healthy with help from The Smile Centre
The Liskeard dentists at The Smile Centre in Cornwall are proud to support National Smile Month, the UK’s largest and longest-running campaign to promote good oral health.
National Smile Month highlights three key messages, all of which go a long way in helping people develop and maintain a healthy mouth. They are:
- Brush your teeth last thing at night and on at least one other occasion with fluoride toothpaste.
- Cut down on how often you have sugary foods and drinks.
- Visit your dentist regularly, as often as they recommend.
The campaign aims to improve the UK’s oral health, so the dentists, hygienists and hygiene therapist at our Church Street dental practice are urging patients from across Cornwall and Plymouth to spread the word to family, friends and neighbours – or anyone who could look after their teeth better.
Almost all of dental health problems are preventable and this is what National Smile Month is trying to draw attention to and promote through positive messages and education.
Making a positive difference
Organised by oral health charity, the British Dental Health Foundation, the campaign hopes to raise awareness of important health issues and make a positive difference to the oral health of millions.
National Smile Month is the perfect time for us to really think about the importance of good oral health and how we care for our mouth.
The campaign takes place between 15 May and 15 June, and will encourage anyone with an interest in good oral healthcare to join in and help educate, motivate and communicate positive oral health messages and improve the quality of smiles all around the UK.
