New year, clean slate
We would like to wish our patients from Liskeard, Tavistock and Launceston, to Looe, Torpoint, Bodmin, St Austell and beyond a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
At the start of a new year our attentions often turn to our health and wellbeing. With this in mind, The Smile Centre in Liskeard would like to put out a call to anyone who hasn’t seen the dentist for 12 months or more to visit us for a thorough dental health examination.
Many changes can occur in your mouth over 12 months and no matter how meticulous your oral hygiene regime, bacterial plaque builds up and can lead to gum disease and tooth decay.
Visiting the dentist is an important part of your overall health routine especially as research potentially links gum disease to arthritis, heart disease, strokes, diabetes and premature births. A staggering 90 per cent of us suffer from gum disease at some point in our lives but with good dental care the risks can be easily controlled.
It is vital to your oral health and overall wellbeing that you visit the dentist at least once a year and we would urge you to make an appointment at your earliest convenience. We have a well-established team and provide outstanding hygiene care to prevent and manage gum disease.
Research has found that patients who visit the dentist regularly are more likely to enjoy:
- fewer fillings because problems are caught early
- less dental decay due to regular examinations
- a decreased chance of experiencing toothache
- more attractive teeth, stronger gums and fresher breath
We look forward to seeing you in 2016.
